The Council of Alberta University Students represents undergraduate students at the University of Alberta, the University of Calgary and the University of Lethbridge through their Students’ Union. Each spring new student executives take office and elect a new chair and decide upon new priorities for the coming academic year.

Zack Moline
CAUS Chair and University of Lethbridge Students’ Union President
403-329-2221 / su.president@uleth.ca

Zack Moline was elected as the 22nd chair of CAUS and is the first chair from the University of Lethbridge since 1997. He is a fourth-year political science and economics student and is also the current President of the University of Lethbridge Students’ Union.

Zack grew up in Lethbridge and is proud of his southern Alberta roots and the perspective that brings to discussions about post-secondary education at the provincial level. He is the son of two public school teachers and is a dedicated advocate for education and lifelong learning. He has worked hard on post-secondary issues for the past three years and looks forward to taking his advocacy work to the provincial government in this exciting time in Alberta’s political history.

Farid Iskandar
CAUS Vice-Chair and University of Alberta Students’ Union VP External
780-492-4236 / vp.external@su.ualberta.ca

Farid was born and raised in Egypt, and came to Edmonton in 2007 to seek a post-secondary education at the University of Alberta. Last year Farid served as a Students’ Union Engineering Councilor. He enjoys reading about science, philosophy, and politics, which has led him to seek a degree in mining engineering. Other areas of interest include debating, beer, and fluid mechanics.

Dylan Jones
University of Calgary Students’ Union President
403-220-7048 / president@su.ucalgary.ca

Matt McMillan
University of Calgary Students’ Union VP External
780-220-3910 / suvpext@ucalgary.ca

Coming from a pan-Canadian background, Matt was born and raised in Calgary with summers touring this great land. In his youth he was known as “The kid who thinks he’s 60” maybe because he liked lawn bowling but more likely due to the fact that he can’t remember a time when he was not concerned about politics or didn’t have something to say.

Matt graduated from William Aberhart High School and before that attended Juno Beach Academy. He has been a student at the U of C for four years. Matt started his post secondary quest in music but realized it was not for him. Currently he studies political science, a field which greatly compliments his position as a student leader and gives that extra bit of excitement on all political fronts.

Outside of school Matt is a proud member of the Canadian Forces teaching and learning from cadets.

Rory Tighe
University of Alberta Students’ Union President
780-492-4236 / president@su.ualberta.ca

Rory is in the fifth year of his undergraduate degree in Economics. He was the Lister Hall Students’ Association President in 2009/2010 and served as the SU Vice President (Student Life) in 2010/2011. Rory is originally from Calgary and has had a passion for travelling since High School. In his spare time, Rory enjoys going to concerts, playing inner tube water polo, and spending time with his friends and family.
