Our Members

The Council of Alberta University Students (CAUS) represents the interests of over 114,000 Alberta university students across Alberta.

We represent undergraduate students from the University of Alberta, the University of Lethbridge, Mount Royal University, MacEwan University, and Athabasca University to the public, government and other post-secondary education stakeholders. Based in Edmonton, CAUS is a non-partisan and active advocacy group driven by our members looking to ensure a fully accessible and high quality system of education in Alberta.

Our board is comprised of representatives from of our member Student association/Student unions. Each institution provides two delegates to our board; most often this is the Vice-President External and the President.

Each year, the CAUS board elects a Chair and Vice Chair. For the 2023 - 2024 school year, the CAUS Chair is Chris Beasley, of the University of Alberta Students’ Union, and the Vice Chair is Naju Syed, of the Athabasca University Students' Union. CAUS is also supported by our Executive Director, Alexandra Ages.

Chris Beasley, Naju Syed, and Alexandra Ages can be reached via the ‘Get Involved’ page on our website.
