The Government of Alberta announced an additional $10.5 million to combat mental illness at universities, colleges, and technical institutions across the province today. $3 million each will go to the University of Alberta, the University of Calgary, and the University of Lethbridge and the remaining $1.5 million will be administered to other campuses by the Alberta Students Executive Council.

“Alberta students’ mental health is an important part of achieving their academic goals, and we are glad to see the Government of Alberta taking an active role in student achievement,” said University of Calgary Students’ Union VP External and Council of Alberta University Students chair Raphael Jacob. “The new mental health staff will make an important difference on our campuses.”
