A groundbreaking conference focusing on the future of Alberta’s universities, colleges, and technical institutes is being hosted in Edmonton on February 21-22, 2013 and we there is an exciting opportunity for an post-secondary student to get involved. We are looking for an intern to help us plan and participate in the conference from December to February – and thanks to the Serving Communities Internship Program (SCiP) sponsored by the Government of Alberta there is a $1,000 grant for your post-secondary studies following the conference. You will get to practice some of your fantastic organizing and writing skills, get some funds for your education, and most importantly be a part of an event that is aimed at making your education better.
The Conference Intern will help develop the materials for the conference, keep in contact with attendees in the lead up to the conference, and manage the social media for during the event. You will need to put in approximately 40 hours of work prior to the conference and then be at the conference itself on February 21-22. In order to apply you must be enrolled in a Alberta post-secondary institution. The work prior to the conference can be done from your home or campus provided you have a computer and internet connection and we will facilitate your travel to Edmonton for the conference if you live outside of Edmonton.
If you have more questions about SCiP visit www.joinscip.ca and you can apply directly for this online at joinscip.ca/internship-details/?id=393 (you will need to setup your SCiP profile) and if you have any questions please call Duncan at 780-297-4531 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
